For the most part, this is a very consistent cigar. The flavor notes remain fairly linear, with no transitions. However, the profile brings out charred word and a creamy undertone, with a bright white pepper hit coming on the retro. The draw was open with a ton of smoke output.
The draw was tighter on this one than I remember previously, which required more effort to pull smoke. However, the burn stayed fairly even with this, only needing one correction. The flavor profile presented mostly charred wood and some creamy pepper.
Construction and burn are good.
OK flavor, though unremarkable. Not sure why these are priced so high. I'll finish what I have. Though I don't see any reason to buy any more of these.
"Well made with a good draw, Cohiba has a solid core of distinctly nutty flavors that have an underlying creaminess. French peanut notes and a touch of caramel on the finish make this a very tasty medium-bodied smoke."

Like all my other posts, be forewarned that I am a cigar amateur and I have a poor sense of smell. Take of that what you will. Cohibas have a reputation and like it or not let's see what everyone's talking about; this one is my first. Cigar was cut with a 7mm punch. Construction is tight with a small flake of wrapper lifting an inch from the foot. It wouldn't become a problem. Cold draw was loose and flavors were espresso and chocolate. First third: First pull was all pepper and woke my palate up in a hurry. Smoke is voluminous and effortless. Pepper gives way to a caramel sweetness and dark chocolate. The ash holds on for an inch and a half before falling off mid puff and off the patio. A hint of creaminess lingers, but I'm getting mostly caramel, cocoa, pepper on the tongue, and a hint of leather on the nose. So far it's solidly a medium, silky smooth, and once the pepper backed off incredibly balanced. Second third: Sweetness, caramel, and peanuts. As in a lot of peanuts, like I just stuck my nose into a can of salted peanuts. I wasn't expecting that at all, and it backs off as quickly as it arrived to fall in sync with the rest of the flavors. Partway through and I need to remove the band. It takes some coaxing off, but no damage done. Burn line has been mostly straight, and when it gets wavy a quick rotation or two gets it back in line. Flavors stay very consistent, until the end of this third where it all takes an ever so slight burnt tinge but absolutely no harshness. Color me surprised. Final third: I expected heavy nicotine by now from my limited experience. I'm not even getting the tingle of it while this cigar continues to impress. Flavors haven't deviated much at all and I'm digging the caramel and peanuts. Homestretch is more of the same with some heat and more pepper from the punch. A straight cut would probably alleviate that, but I'm not complaining. Wow. Okay I sorta get it now. This cigar has been a welcome surprise. Like enjoying average bourbons for years and then sampling a fine scotch for the first time. It's not the punch or the sheer strength, but the balance of flavors and the smoothness. If I had to use a word for this: Effortless. I didn't have to search for any flavors, didn't have suffer through it, and didn't have to watch the burn. Just effortless. Now, how to justify getting several more haha.
This stick is a very average smokeable stick. The original Cohiba red dot had such a tight draw it would have been a lot lower scoring and almost not smokeable. This is a revisit and the new packaging and better draw was appreciated. However there is nothing spectacular about the taste of this stick and the draw is still restricted albeit drastically improved from original at an avg of 24$ a stick the list is so incredibly long on such insanely better sticks it is amazing. Are Cohiba good? Yes they are amazing, however these are the new world ones and in any label are overpriced and underwhelming especially when considering it’s price point. It really boils down to trading on the name.
