Hoyo de Monterrey

Repeated review of a steadily consistent smoke. The profile brings out smooth notes of some light floral tones with hints of citrus & spice. The draw was open, while the burn only needed a single touch-up.

The Red is much better than the Blue counterpart. The draw is incredibly open with a massive amount of smoke. The flavor tastes like a smoky campfire with decent spice coming through. The burn waved but corrected itself.

Hands down, this cigar was absolutely phenomenal. The flavor notes bring out bold dark coffee, black pepper, and earth without ever getting bitter. The draw had just the right amount of resistance to it that allowed for an even burn while producing a massive amount of smoke.

This is one dark, oily, and bold cigar. They prominent flavors consist of dark espresso and cedar, with intense black pepper on the retro. The draw was incredibly smooth with a lot of smoke output, while the burn remained very even.

Perdomo

Compared to the Fresco Maduro, this one is simply a letdown. The construction, draw, and burn were all fantastic. However, it was absolutely zero flavor to this whatsoever. There was the slightest hint of pepper on the retro, but nothing came through on the mouth feel whatsoever. Willing to try it again later to be sure.

Espinosa

Made to be a budget smoke, this is actually a pretty decent one. The flavor primarily consists of a sweet cedar and cocoa, with an underlying tone of subtle baking spices. The retro is smooth, the burn is almost perfect, and the draw is open.

The appearance is rustic & veiny, but it burned pretty well. Only a couple of corrections were needed. They flavor is simple, with rich earthy tobacco and some creamy notes. The retro had zero intensity.

Hoyo de Monterrey

Even though the cigar size is long, it burned pretty fast. However, the draw stayed smooth with a perfectly even burn. The flavor profile was smooth and simple, with notes of spices and espresso.

The flavor profile here consists of simple but clean wood, light coffee, and a little nuttiness. The construction held together just, surprising for just a larger sized Connecticut. Nothing fantastic, but a solid cigar regardless.

Privada Cigar Club

This is simply an odd cigar. The wrapper isn't cleanly rolled, construction is super soft, and there's minimal flavor. The profile consists only of basic tobacco and some weird spice hits. Somehow the draw and burn are excellent.

La Palina

This cigar started off with some positive notes, but that did not last long. The flavor initially portrayed of a sweet spice with some nuttiness and wood. However, it had serious combustion problems and almost refused to stay burning. This caused the flavor to tarnish and the experience to drop. The cigar has been resting for 6 months already. I will give another one a shot soon from the bundle before giving them up.
