I put it away after an hour with roughly the last third left. I just was already full. Not a light cigar as you expect from a Connecticut. Never the less really aromatic, sweet and tasty till that point. It just got too strong for that moment.
Perfect draw and smooth start. Still, I put it down after 45 minutes and roughly half the cigar as it was… uninteresting. Still an uncomplicated cigar and could be a cost effective daily driver. But if you search for surprises and depth of flavor, it will not make your day.
Tasty, straight forward cigar with dark tasting notes. Extremely slow burner. You can fill a whole evening with that one and tastes good till the end. No bitterness whatsoever. A few sticks will find its way into my humidor again.
What a cigar. I am not sure if they are sold outside of Germany, as Hemmys is a small manufacturer in Berlin. But dang are they good. Starts with a fruit note that transitions to darker chocolate notes. A bit toast and then there is this sweet fruit again. For nearly 8 bucks, the profile and transitions are absurd. If you can, try them.
Highly complex Connecticut. For an evening cigar it is too mild for me. Could use a bit more power. But for lovers of mild cigars, that stick is really good. Construction was also good, just at the end of the second third, I had too touch up the burnline one time.
Will get more for the humidor.
Wow. Didn’t expect this good profile. I loved it, I just would suggest to not smoke that on an empty stomach. No bitterness till the end. Some subtle spice, cocoa and an earthy note to it. Was my first and only stick of these. I need to get more for the humidor.
The Black Market Esteli came recommended by my local shopkeeper, as I liked the 'original' Black Market. He claimed that, while the Honduras-made Black Market is indeed very good, it's Nicaraguan-made nephew was even better.
Indeed, tasting totally different compared to the regular Black Market, the Esteli version is totally awesome, and in my opinion, also slightly more complex. Notes of dark chocolate, black pepper and vanille are most obvious, with in the background some creaminess, and a hint of mint ; all in perfect balance.
While the regular Black Market already scores very high, with the Black Market Esteli, Alec Bradley managed to improve on it.
**Fun Fact: **The Esteli features a double binder: one from Nicaragua, and one from Honduras.
