Hmm… I let this one rest at a damn near perfect 70/70 in my "fumador" for a few weeks before giving it a try.
I'm not really sure what to make of this one, to be honest.
The nicest part about it is the band. The artwork really is neat.
Flavor? I'm not too sure. Despite not being dried out, it sure did taste like it was once dried out. If I had to describe the flavor, it was similar to that of a brown grocery bag, similar to its looks. Now that I think of it, the flavor reminded me of a stale-old couple of Swisher Sweets or Phillies that I smoked about fifteen years ago.
Draw? I'd say it drew perfectly. Not tight at all, but definitely not /too/ loose.
Burn? I only had to touch it up once, but I could tell that things could've gone bad if I didn't keep up with it. I won't be too hard on it since I lit it with a zippo.
I may revisit this by smoking another after some long term aging. I'm not gonna pretend that there'll be any significant improvements, but who knows? Maybe this was just a bad sample.
Overall, I find it to be pretty shitty and would be more hesitant than the hesitant pirate to buy even a five pack of these Hesitant Pirates.
It's a visually interesting specimen to keep in my funny little "fumador", as I call it, but that's about all it's good for. Adding to my collection of weirdness and not much more. There are certainly way better smokes at a similar pricepoint.
I'd even go as far as saying that I'd smoke a Ron Mexico over this if I was to face such a scenario that forced these two as the only option. At least that infamous stick has some positive qualities.
