TL;DR - definitely has a core flavor of coconut milk 😋😋 Easily one of the most unique and finest cigars I've ever had. Highly recommended 👍 Aged 15 mos, dry-boxed 5 hours ⏳️ Pre-light is nougat candy bar. Wow. Oily appearance. Light-up is easy 👌 Starting core is creamy maduro spice. Goldilocks construction and draw. Initial impressions: it definitely develops a core of clove-spiced coconut milk 🥥 A little Cocoa arrives at the beginning of the second third. Seems like this one wants to be a journey cigar. Halfway through the Cocoa develops a pleasant bitterness. So I don't forget to say it, these cigars smell exceedingly good from just being in the room. Great aroma. Burn 🔥 is perfect and forgiving. Medium flavors and strong nicotine. Pairing ideas: yes, to creamy drinks like a craft mocha. I think spiced rum could pair well. Pecan or pistachio ice cream; that's the ticket. I also think most other liquors would overpower this creamy spiced experience.
I've had a five of these in my my humidor for 2 months just waiting to try. So worth the waiting. Might be the new favorite. Smooth without good smok production nearly perfect drawing android burner.
Great construction, with a decent burn line. Did not require a touch up but I did have to roll the cigar often to keep the burn line more even. (Probably because I was floating down the American River on a tube while enjoying this cigar) The smell of the wrapper is decadent and reminded me of the smell of fresh Beechnut. Wonderful sweetness with notes of ripe fruit off the initial light up. 4/10 pepper on the retrohale, 2/10 on the palette in the first third. The sweetness remains through the second third with notes of chocolate. As a chewing tobacco fan this cigar hit the spot for flavor for me.
Purchased a 5 pack online, review in order.
8/8/2024, S-1; Nice looking cigar, the flavor was sweet and smooth. The draw was difficult the first half, recut and that help for the remainder.
Really good smoke! Starts out with cocoa and pepper with hints of wood (cedar maybe). The 2nd 3rd a creamy flavor started that really amped up the cocoa flavors. The burn was all over the place but that seems to happen w/ box pressed (at least for me. Solid medium profile, a little softer than my normal but the flavors were great. Half-way thru a fruity sweetness came in. The final 3rd all the flavors amped up except the pepper, lots of complexity and flavor shifts.
Being relatively new to cigars, I’ve not had many sticks other than Punch, Macanudo, or Montecristo. This La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Belicoso was outstanding. A beautiful looking wrapper that lit and burned easily and evenly. The flavor was full but smooth. The retrohale was easy on the nose and provided plenty of extra flavor notes. Definitely will be a favorite!
First third: coffee notes to start off. There is a taste of caramel as well. Nut taste is building up as the third closes off and there is spice as well in the back of the throat. I am tasting chocolate as well. Level 3 third.
Second third: Chocolate is the main flavor. Nuts are the second main tone. The coffee taste went away. There is both a caramel and cinnamon taste. Overall this is a sweater cigar that reminds me of a chocolate coffee so far. This cigar is improving. Level 2 third.
Final third: same notes with the main favor being chocolate. Nuts the second main flavor. The caramel taste is awesome as well. Level 2 third.
Final smoking time: 1:27.
Connoisseur’s take: I agree with this cigar making the cigars of the year list for Cigar Aficionados. I really liked how the flavors came together to become a chocolate coffee like cigar. I would advise anyone to buy this cigar.
Chocolate, Cream, lesser tones of earth and spice in the first third. The second and third half of the cigar the taste tones reverse with earthy tones becoming prevalent
Very tasty, well balanced cigar. For the price one of the better cigars I’ve had. A few minor burn issues. Good draw. Great flavor down to the last bit. No heat issues at all at the end. Very well constructed.
