Had to touch up the burn a few times and relight once. This Cigar wants to be smoked a bit quicker. Good flavor of leather, slightly sweet with a bit of dark chocolate and a nice light spice. Retrohale is smooth with bits of leather and spice.
The draw was a bit tight for my preference, requiring an extra puff or two to stoke the ember before getting a nice sized draw off of it. Burned evenly, without requiring touch-ups. The flavor provided some creamy coffee, slightly spicy and sweet notes. The room note was unexpected. The smoke gave off a sweet almost floral quality that was a nice surprise. Overall, this was a fairly complex sensory experience when paired with a smoky scotch.

This particular cigar had some cosmetic issues with the wrapper. Some smoke did escape from the holes, but nothing went through the binder so it didn’t affect the draw. I’m not sure that reflects as much in the manufacturer as it does the retailers packaging and shipping. The flavor was nice for a mellow to medium bodied cigar. Lots of smooth nutty/woody notes. The burn was solid and even. The draw was fantastic with a v-cut, but may have been a tad better with a straight cut. Overall, it was a nice smoke that I would purchase again.
I don't normally smoke flavored cigars, but this is definitely one I'll keep on hand. Of course it pairs great with a cup of coffee being it's a coffee flavored cigar. Burn can be a little uneven at times but it seems to self correct. Give it try. You won't be disappointed!
Wow, I'm torn on this one! Upon light up I halfway considered throwing it out. I don't know if it was the strength or what but it kind of made me nauseous. I'm glad I continued because the flavors were incredible. It's like a spicy chocolate with a sweet earthiness and a touch a caramel. The chocolate carries through the aroma and it's fantastic! Perfect draw, good burn, solid ash, and tons of smoke. I would have rated it higher had it not given me that sick feeling in the back of the throat. I will definitely try it again with much anticipation.
I'm a big fan of the original Project 40 so I had to try the maduro. I get a creamy chocolate with a slight nuttiness. Aroma is sweet and very pleasant. The burn can be a little wavy at times. This being the 5th one I've smoked, my only complaint has to do with the construction of the cap. Every one I've had starts to unravel. I've used both a punch and a straight cut. Hopefully I've just got a bad batch. Definitely worth a try if you haven't already.
