I want to like Nelson's cigars so bad because they are very artfully crafted and the tobaccos used are splendid but I can't get over the weak smoke production and coffee stir straw draw.
A little disappointed with this one for the hype and price. The flavor was incredibly mild with only a moderate draw, tried a v cut first and ended up cutting the whole cap off to see if that would improve it but unfortunately it did not change much.
Absolutely gorgeous cigar with a very luxurious cold smell. I wish it had been more powerful.
Soft to the touch, lots of black tea and earl grey on the first 3rd, followed by wet hay, wheat, and cereal, has a very classic golden finish with a hint of lingering spice akin to fresh ground white pepper.
Overall solid cigar that I would smoke again if someone handed to me but when purchasing, would probably look elsewhere but may purchase again.
Tatuaje Miami Noellas Brown Label to kick off the weekend. Tat does such a great job and this one is no outlier. First generation Cuban seed grown in Nicaraguan, rolled in Miami. Spicy cinnamon notes, especially in the retrohale, and leathery with some heavy tooth especially evident on the ash. It's pairing well with some coffee with cacao and salted caramel syrup. The draw is a little tight, but is smoking well. The burn wavered at first but has evened out perfectly a third of the way through.
Light and sweet with little to no burn in the retrohale. The burn was never razor sharp, it was uneven most of the way through. The draw was a little tight, but had good smoke output. It was a nice long smoke time, thoroughly enjoyable. It was a good cigar but a little musty, which gave it a unique characteristic.
Seems like these are just Caldwell's Eastern Standard with the Matt Booth's face band. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic smoke. The petit corona size lets the ash stack tightly and burn for half the size of the cigar without dropping, even after removing the bands. Like Caldwell's original Eastern Standard, the flavor is light and creamy with slight a nutty chocolate flavor. The retrohale has a slight pepper tingle. There was a slight misperfection in the wrapper but it didn't affect the burn at all.
